Information Session about Acceptance Commitment Training (ACT) for siblings
May 11 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDTFree
This session will be an introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for siblings of individual with a disability.
What is ACT?
ACT is an approach that helps individuals to mindfully connect with important issues in their life. ACT does not attempt to directly change or stop unwanted thoughts or feelings but instead encourages us to focus on developing a new relationship with those experiences. By practicing in a mindful way, a person can become more open, and take actions consistent with what they value and truly care about.
Come and learn more about ACT. We will provide further information and answer any questions you may have on Tuesday night. Afterwards, you can decide if you want to participate in one of our upcoming workshops!
